Watersense Certification Provider Application

The annual fee for WaterSense certification providers that are RESNET Rating Providers is $500. The annual fee for WaterSense certification providers that are LEED Homes Providers is $1750. There is a non-refundable application fee of $500. If the application is approved the $500 application fee will be credited to the annual fee.

Part Two: Criteria for Accreditation

1. WaterSense requires each licensed certification provider to have at least one quality assurance designee. Please provide the following information regarding your quality assurance designee:

2. Please provide documentation that your quality assurance designee/delegate meets the following requirements: *

  1. Documentation that quality assurance designees will not perform quality assurance functions for WaterSense on any inspections that he or she conducts or in which he or she is involved; (you are able to have two quality assurance designees on staff that can QA each other’s work, but both must attend the provider training)
  2. Document a minimum of one year of experience conducting inspections for WaterSense or another green building program such as ENERGY STAR, LEED, etc;
  3. Please attach a formal agreement with the licensed certification provider agreeing to comply with all of the quality assurance oversight activities required by the program administrator.
  4. Documentation including date of the quality assurance designee(s)’s attendance at a certification provider training session

 

3. Please submit your procedures for ensuring the inspectors' ability to perform accurate inspections, including a requirement that the certification provider's quality assurance designee re-inspect/co-inspect each inspector's first three inspections as well as one home or 1% of the certified homes annually thereafter, whichever is greater. *

 

4. Please submit your inspector conflict of interest disclosure, which must be accompanied by an agreement to provide advanced disclosure of any conflicts to the builder partner/homeowner. *

 

5. Please submit your inspection record-keeping provisions including the quality assurance record for each home, what documentation is required to be provided by the inspectors (checklist, picture, etc), inspector registry and length of time records will be kept. *

 

6. Please submit your inspector discipline provisions, which must include, at a minimum, progressive discipline procedures including probation, suspension, and termination. *

 

7. Please submit your inspector quality control procedures. *

 

8. Are you a RESNET accredited rating sampling provider? *

 

9. Please submit your complaint resolution process including documentation of procedures to respond to and resolve complaints, the requirement to inform clients of the complaint resolution process, and how long complaint records will be maintained. *
