Comment:

The proposed revision/update of ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 includes definitions that have already been redefined/updated in the approved addendum: ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Addendum D-2017.

Specifically (although not necessarily exhaustively), the definitions for Bedroom, Conditioned Floor Area (CFA), and Conditioned Space Volume were updated in Addendum D-2017, however this draft is using previous language (with some new revisions) for those items.

When the stated purpose of this update is to create Standards, ". . .which provides for uniformity and consistency in the rating and labeling of Dwelling Units and Sleeping Units in detached and attached housing types," it seems counterproductive to the intent to further confuse the issues by having conflicting definitions for the same document.

Proposed Change:

Use the updated definitions from the approved ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Addendum D-2017 as a baseline for all items in the proposed revision/update of ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014. From there, any proposed revisions/updates to the stated definitions should go out for public comment in the same fashion as this Draft.

Sorry for the last comment...I hit the tab and it submitted.

I realize this is supposed to be comments for edits only, but I though this would have gotten caught.

Rating types references 4 sections - so that means there are 4 ratings types - correct?

Proposed Change:

5.1.4   Rating Types. There shall be threefour rating types in accordance with Sections 5.1.4.1 through 5.1.4.4.
