Comment #1Amendment: Proposed MINHERS Addendum 68, HERS Modeler Professional Development Course Requirements, Draft PDS-02Page Number: 2-13 in the 2013 version minus addenda - could not find a print version with all addenda to provide a current pageParagraph / Figure / Table / Note: 207.1.3Comment Intent: Not an ObjectionComment Type: EditorialComment: This comment is for Draft PDS-02 MINHERS Addendum 68, HERS Modeler Professional Development Course Requirements. To make it very clear what the Recertification requirements are for HERS Raters, suggest add the word "AND" after 207.1.3.2 as well as formatting changes to clearly show the words "OR" & "AND". The "OR" is already included in the standard at the end of 207.1.3.1 but would be clearer in my opinion if seperated from that line, along with the addition of "AND" to clearly show the software training is required each recertification period but can be, as already stated, included as part of the 18 hours required. While this is already included at the very end of 207.1.3.4, it would make it easier and clearer to understand the recertification requirements. Proposed Change: 207.1.3 Certified HERS Raters 207.1.3.1 Attend a RESNET approved conference once every three years to meet 18 hours of professional development OR 207.1.3.2 Complete 18 hours of RESNET approved professional development from a RESNET Accredited Training Provider every three years. AND 207.1.3.3 Attend RESNET approved HERS Modeler Professional Development course(s) offered by a RESNET Accredited Training Provider. RESNET’s approval process shall utilize criteria established by the Software Providers in collaboration with RESNET Staff to review and approve or reject the course. Each course shall be reviewed and approved by RESNET Accredited Software Provider(s) for which the course is being offered. The HERS Rater must complete professional development once in a three-year period for each RESNET Accredited Software program with which they create HERS models. The hours completed as part of this requirement shall be included as part of the required 18 hours of professional development. 207.1.3.4 Certified HERS Raters who have not completed any Confirmed, Sampled, or Threshold ratings within the three-year certification period shall successfully complete one RESNET graded-field evaluation overseen by a RESNET certified Candidate Field Assessor or Quality Assurance Designee, in addition to satisfying either 207.1.3.1 or 207.1.3.2 and 207.1.3.3.
