Comment #2Amendment: Proposed MINHERS Addendum 68, HERS Modeler Professional Development Course Requirements, Draft PDS-01Page Number: 1Paragraph / Figure / Table / Note: 207.1.2.1 and 207.1.3.3Comment Intent: Not an ObjectionComment Type: GeneralComment: As a Training Provider I agree with this modification. I believe that RESNET Staff should review and approve this training just as they do all other training. If the Software Provider requires a review as well, that should be between RESNET Staff that are reviewing the training and the Software Provider and there should be a time limit for that review. I have worked to communicate with Software Providers for my training and it is sometimes difficult to get a response. One provider does not respond to this type of request at all. If Software Provider review is required, then there must be some method provided for the review as well as a required review response timeframe. Proposed Change: N/A - I agree with the modification.

Comment #3Amendment: Proposed MINHERS Addendum 68, HERS Modeler Professional Development Course Requirements, Draft PDS-01Page Number: 1Paragraph / Figure / Table / Note: 207.1.2.1 and 207.1.3.3Comment Intent: Not an ObjectionComment Type: TechnicalComment: I agree with the modification. RESNET should retain the ultimate responsibility for reviewing and approving training for all courses and the HERS Modeler Professional Development courses should not be an exception. Software developers should get to review any training that involves their product if it is important to them, but RESNET should be the one to send it to them for review, not the training provider. If the software developer has issues with the training material, they should get with the appropriate RESNET staff to have the training provider make the recommended changes and/or updates. If the training provider does not make the requested changes or updates as requested by the software developer then RESNET has the recourse to not approve the training, or to place the training provider on probation, or other form of control. The software providers rely on RESNET to monitor and control the training providers in order to produce the best and most uniform product. The role of the software providers is to produce the best quality software, the role of the training providers is to offer the best quality training, and the role of RESNET is to maintain a consistent, high-quality standard for both the software and the training. Proposed Change: N/A - I agree with the modification and can see how it would be best for all parties involved, in my opinion.
